BENUE ANA LITERARY PRIZES 2016

CALL FOR ENTRIES

 The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Benue State Chapter hereby announces its 2016 Literary Prizes in the following categories:

  1. Benue ANA Prize for Poetry (published and unpublished manuscripts)
  2. Benue ANA Prize for Prose (published and unpublished manuscripts)
  3. Benue ANA Prize for Children’s Literature (published and unpublished manuscripts)
  4. Benue ANA Short Story Prize (published and unpublished manuscripts)
  5. Benue ANA Prize for Women Writing (published and unpublished manuscripts – in all genres)
  6. Benue ANA Teen Author Prize (published and unpublished manuscripts by authors aged 18 years and below at the close of entries – in all genres of literature)
  7. Benue ANA Prize for Drama (published and unpublished manuscripts)

Submission Guidelines

  1. Entries must be original works of the entrants, published or unpublished.
  2. Entries in more than one category by a same entrant are allowed.
  3. For Poetry manuscripts, only 15 poems per entry are allowed.
  4. For the Short Story prize, only 1 short story per entry with a minimum word count of 2000 and maximum of 4000.
  5. Translated works from any of the indigenous languages in the State of Benue are also allowed.
  6. Published entries must not have been published earlier than 2014.
  7. Benue State ANA Executive Council Members are not eligible to enter for this competition.
  8. Deadline for all submissions is Friday 8th January, 2016 by 00:00hrs GMT+1.
  9. Unpublished manuscripts should be emailed with full details of the author: name, date of birth, contact address, email address, title(s) of work(s), and scanned copy of Benue State Certificate of Origin (in the body of the mail) with the subject ‘BENUE ANA PRIZES 2016’ to anabenue@gmail.com
  10. 4 copies per title of published entries should be posted to S23, Top Floor, 62 Old Oturkpo Road, P.O. Box 2192, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria (with the full details of the author: name, date of birth, contact address, email address, title(s) of work(s), photocopy of Benue State Certificate of Origin (typed on a separate sheet and included in the post.)
  11. Text must be in Microsoft Word Times New Roman Font Size 12 with double line spacing.
  12. Illustrations or pictorial attachments must not be included whatsoever in the entries.
  13. This call for entries is open to ONLY BENUE STATE INDIGENES writing in English Language and resident anywhere in the world.
